Please help! I’m really confused about this problem. Eventhough it’s a simple 3rd grade math problem.

The answer is 90

No. of 3 digit numbers starting with ’8′ & ending in 1 = 10

(801, 811, 821, 831, 841, 851, 861, 871, 881 & 891)

Similarly, Number of the 3 digit numbers starting with 8 & ending in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 are = 80

So Number of 3-digit numbers starting with the same amount of hundreds & ones are = 90 ANSWER
